PLANNING / RESIDENTIAL MOVING
An apartment move connects two sets of building rules with one inventory and one moving plan. Use this checklist to organize the details before requesting residential moving or labor-only help in Jackson and Josephine Counties.
Download the two-page checklist with task boxes and a building worksheet. Print it or complete the fields in a compatible PDF reader.
Confirm when you can leave the current unit and when the new unit will be accessible. Ask each property manager about move windows, elevator reservations, parking and the entrance movers should use. A preferred move date still needs to fit property access and crew availability.
Create a single list of furniture and packed belongings. Include items in a garage, balcony or separate storage space. Mark what will move, stay or leave through a separately arranged pickup so the estimate covers the correct inventory.
Decide who is arranging transportation. Residential moving may include loading, transport and placement for the agreed scope. With load and unload help, you arrange the truck or container and request labor for the confirmed locations. Review Residential Moving or Load and Unload Help.
Use the same worksheet for the origin and destination. Write down the answers and share relevant access details with the team; keep private gate codes out of public documents.
Who can confirm the move rules and respond if access changes?
What arrival and departure times can the property accommodate?
Where may the vehicle stop, which doorway should the crew use, and how far is the carry?
Which floors are involved? Are there stairs, an elevator reservation or a backup route the team needs to review?
What are the dimensions of the largest items and any narrow doors, hallways or turns? Share photos when helpful so handling can be reviewed in advance.
Who will unlock each location and remain available to answer placement questions?
Do not assume an elevator booking, vehicle space or furniture route is available until it is confirmed. Tell the team if a building changes the window or access plan.
Label boxes with the destination room and identify furniture placement. Give the new rooms simple names that match your labels. Mark anything staying behind so it cannot be confused with the moving inventory.
Keep keys, documents and items you need immediately with you. Complete packing and other preparation outside the agreed crew scope. If an item needs disassembly or additional handling, ask about it before move day rather than assuming the task is included.
Confirm separate storage or pickup stops, their access hours and the inventory at each stop. A change in the number of stops or belongings may change the scope, so communicate it before the crew arrives.
Have the property contact and placement plan available. Walk through the agreed inventory with the crew and identify any changed access or timing. At the destination, use the room labels to answer placement questions and keep entrances clear.
Before departure, review the rooms and any included storage spaces. Point out placement concerns while the crew is still present. Arrange building walkthroughs and key returns with the property manager as appropriate for your move.
Send both addresses, the preferred date, an inventory, floor and access details, building time windows, large-item information and any extra stops. Explain whether you need transportation or labor for equipment you arrange. The Moving Pros will review the complete work and availability before confirming service.
This guide helps you prepare; the agreed estimate defines the crew's work. It does not promise a fixed duration, furniture fit, a deposit outcome or availability on a specific date.
